ABOUT THE MAGELLAN:
Hello Readers!

My name is Erica Ankney, and I a rising senior at Washington & Jefferson College. The Magellan Project is unique to Washington & Jefferson and provides our students with the support and funding necessary to pursue our own self-designed summer research projects. The Magellan Project makes it possible for you to do whatever you can dream of doing, wherever you can dream of going.

For a 10 week duration spanning summer 2017, I will be competing my Magellan Project in Washington, D.C. where I am studying under the tutelage of American University's, and Washington & Jefferson College alumni, Dr. Sarah Marsh. I am spending my summer learning about vaccination policy in this country; and striving to join the conversation on the societal implication of disease in this country.
A Special Thanks:

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank you to Dr. Candy DeBerry (Biology Department), Roberta Cross, Jami Klingensmith, Linda Howarth, Dr. Micheal Leonard (Chemistry Department), Amanda Cowan, Kaitlyn Bamrick, and Tyler Tenney who have helped foster my intellectual curiosity and supported me through the entire Magellan Project process.
